Used Surfboards

What would be a good website to ask questions about surfboards?

I have not gotten any responses from my questions and i’m wondering if there any good websites for finding out the prce of a Used Surfboard. And how to repair one.

This is as good as any. Thankfully, most real surfers don’t spend too much time on the computer, so I don’t think you’ll find lots of surfing ‘chat rooms’ and the like, but I’m not sure. I found this site by accident one night, and I have gotten sort of ‘hooked’, but believe me, I am a dinosaur, and not too much into the cyber world. I’d rather surf.

Shoot your questions at me, and I’ll try to answer them (if they make sense, and give enough information for me to give you a straight answer. I have been surfing for 42 years, so I have probably, “Been there, done that” at least once, so I will try to help. However, I won’t BS or sugar coat anything. Some people are no where near capable of surfing (like the ones who have never even gone swimming in the ocean), and it’s not fair to lie to them. Surfing is supposed to be fun (and maybe a little ‘spiritual’). So it should be shared, but only realistically.

Unfortunately, the ocean is already full of dangerous, disrespectful people, and the surfing world can live well without them, For all the fun folks, who aspire to be ‘watermen’, and laugh a lot, we got lots of room.

The price of used surfboard varies greatly, and the best place to ‘shop’ for a used stick is at a surf shop, not on line. A ride-able board can cost anything from $200. to $1,000.00 US (hell, I have a 40 year old board worth $2,500…. and its ‘used’). There are some fair web sites on surfboard repairs, but depending on how much work has to be done, many repairs are best left in the hands of professional ding men, whom you will find in a surf shop, not on line.

As you might expect, Timeless isn’t your parents’ Sergio Mendes. Take “Mais Que Nada,” the opener from that topselling staple of post-60s, post-bossa, near-kitsch Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66: Greatest Hits. Here it’s no simple, slinky groove. The Black-Eyed Peas are along for the bumpin’ ride. What it amounts to is the same intercultural collision that happened when bossa nova met jazz and pop via …
