It is not easy to feel great when Kitesurfing or Windsurfing. The sun rays will be so good at burning your skin and therefore you need to be well protected from the sun. Sunscreen is a good option to this and it will help you avoid too much destruction of your skin by the strong UV rays. If you are allergic to sunscreen, you still got options.
Rash guards are a good way to protect you from the sun while kitesurfing. Rash guards are a type of athletic shirts that are made of spandex and nylon or polyester at times. They are used for coverage in warm to extreme summer temperatures for several water sports. These are also called rash vests or rashies too. They are mostly worn when the weather is just too warm for a wet suit or a wet shirt. They also prevent wax-based chaffing from sliding on and off of the surf board. Rash guards protect you from the sun’s rays by offering ultraviolet protection factor to protect against the rays of the sun. Rash guards are an awesome alternative to sunscreen.
Rash guards work by protecting the wearer from a likelihood of skin cancer and UV radiation. Rash guards have been known to provide up to 98% UV light protection which is very commendable. The advantage that rash guards have over sunscreen is that you can be allergic to sunscreen but since rash guards are cloths and have no irritating chemicals, you cannot be allergic to them.
Rash guards are not expensive to buy as they come in easily affordable prices. This gives you an opportunity to have it. If rash guards are used alongside sunscreen-that is if you are not allergic, then you are in a better position as far as protection from sun rays is concerned.
While looking for a sun protection means, there are several things that you need to look at. The first thing to consider when looking for a clothing to shield you from the sun is its comfort. It should fit you well and light enough to let you cool in the warm whether. The cloth should be of a good design. Long-sleeved cloths give more protection than short-sleeved ones. The garment type is another fundamental aspect of this protective clothing. Materials like polyester are more preferred. They are lighter and enhance quicker evaporation. The cloths Ultraviolet Protection Factor should be high enough. The higher the factor the more protection you get from sun rays. Just like all other items, you should consider the cost. It should be affordable to you. Choose the cloth that is the most protective and is within your budget range as you can afford it.
